Who we are looking for

An IT Automation Team Lead who will help to coordinate and manage the successful delivery of automation initiatives, using a combination of robotic process automation and custom built tools.

You will lead a dynamic team, focused on implementing and maintaining robotic process automation (RPA) solutions, developing REST APIs and creating front-end applications using Python. Additionally, you will champion an agile project management approach and contribute to the establishment of a Centre of Excellence (CoE) for automation within IT Services.

Working closely with all members of the team and various key stakeholders at different levels within the business, you will support and implement solutions to a high standard.

You will have the opportunity to drive positive change and contribute to the continued success of the team as we extend our reach of automation across IT Services.

Preferred skills and experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, with a strong technical background.
• Proven experience in leading teams in automation, RPA and Python development.
• Familiarity with RPA tools and technologies.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability towork under pressure and to tight deadlines.

Main Responsibilities

• Leading and mentoring a team of automation developers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
• Coordinating with other departments to understand automation requirements and aligning team priorities.
• Leading the development of RPA Solutions, REST APIs and front-end applications using Python to streamline and automate business processes, ensuring code quality, adherence to coding standards and implementation of best practices.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and design scalable and maintainable solutions, sharing knowledge and promoting the adoption of automation technologies across the organisation.
• Organising and facilitating regular sprint planning, review and retrospective meetings to optimize team performance.
• Maintaining a prioritised backlog, ensuring alignment between business goals and project priorities.
• Fostering an environment of iterative development, emphasising continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices.
• Contributing to the establishment and growth of a CoE for automation within the organisation.
• Defining and implementing best practices, standards and governance for automation projects.
• Implementing KPIs and agile metrics to measure team progress and project success.
